Tubular breast deformities are seen in a significant percentage of our patients at Park Avenue Plastic Surgery in Orlando. Approximately 2 – 5% of our patients will show signs of tubular breast deformity. These include:
A poorly defined inframammary fold or no fold.
Pseudo-herniation of breast tissue into the nipple areolar complex.
A flattening along the lower pole of the breast with minimal rounding appearance.
Tubular Deformity Pre-Op & Post Op
This is a deformity that can be corrected. There are many techniques to make a tubular breast appear to be more round. Which technique is used can depend on the patients breast tissue. For example, if a patient has a smaller amount of breast tissue available, Dr. Joseph may perform a dual plane technique and place the implant behind the muscle. However, if there is a significant amount of breast tissue and the patient has a thicker or endomorphic build, then these patients may do better with a subglandular or retromammary approach in order to round out some of the upper pole of the breast which may be flattened if the implant is placed under the muscle. The muscle will limit expansion of the upper pole.

We are doing some DOT laser treatments today in the office. DOT laser uses fractionated CO2 technology to increase collagen production in the skin. The downtime is less because of the fractionated technology. As your skin heals more collagen is produced. The result is improved texture and tone of the skin.
